Well, I guess I'd have to say that the biggest thing that happened in 2006 was having retired after a long, thirty year career with one company. And now I have started another career after taking an 80% cut in pay, but with a whole lot more job satisfaction.

WOW! Your 100th post. This is quite an achievement! Congrats!

I would say that my greatest achievement was going to Rwanda for the first time ever. That trip will be in my heart forever!

You're welcome to comment on my 100 post. And then; what is your biggest achievement :) Fell for that one.
I must say, it's just after 7 on a Monday morning, so i don't know if i'll have all the facts clear, but errr...our 2 freelancers company grew into a 2 freelancers company with an office manager and 18 people working for us. We won a lawsuit which cost us dearly.
All 3 kids went to school but that is not really an achievement.
I am still married. Now that's an achievement.
Congratulations on your 100th post !!

2006 has not been a year marked by achievement and 2007's planned achievement is getting through it somehow. That'll be enough. Truly.

Lavendar: I wasn't invited to comment on your 100th post, but after saying this, "I like the brevity of your posts--very readable," I'll say that my biggest achievement was getting better FAST after being very sick. My hair grew back--some grays turned back to my natural dark brown, I gained back the weight I had lost, and I'm eating pretty healthily--almost exactly how I want to eat. My greatest achievement this year(and every year)is maintaining my relationship with God. All my other relationships(family, church, friends, neighbors)really hinge on this one, and I know if I have a good relationship with God, all the others will fall into place. When my life on earth is over, this is the thing that will matter the most.

Blessings to you this holiday season,

Carol

Thank you to all for your comments!
Based on what Carol said, I achieved the following this year: Starting my own business, becoming a member of a volunteer group, starting a very rewarding hobby(photography).

I dont feel the word achievement applies to what I did this year. Bits and pieces that I'm happy with, yes, but it's been a transition year, a stressful one. Perhaps next year will see some sense and order restored.

Greatest accomplishment this year? Lessee...
...well, hubbers & I managed to get pregnant and create a little life that is still baking in the belly! Baby should be born on or around 1/23/07. YIPE! Exciting and terrifying all wrapped into one strange fruit of an emotion.

Love the quotes, Lavendar!

Lavender, thanks for inviting me to comment on your 100th post, and sorry it took so long.

In the past 12 months I'd say my greatest achievement was maintaining a happy marriage. I hit the one-year mark six months ago, and trust me as a still relative newlywed I'd had no idea how tough it would be.

But if simply staying married doesn't count, here's a professional accomplishment: I finally landed a literary agent to help me sell my book (hopefully)!

nathalie: Bits & pieces & transitions ARE important. They are part of the process. Best of luck for 2007!

anea: Following progress & wishing you both the best for this 'brave new world' awaiting you!

james: Maintaining a happy marriage rates very high on the list of achievements. - Success with the book! I'll look in regularly.
